Krystle Kimes

Krystle Kimes is an Emmy nominated and Ohio Associated Press Award-winning TV News Producer. 

She’s earned AP Award’s Best Producer of 2020, Best Spot News Coverage and Best Coverage of a Scheduled Event, both in 2016.

She currently produces WKBN’s 5 pm hour newscast and previously produced First News on Fox’s 10 pm news.

She started working at WKBN in November 2011 after a year at the Youngstown Business Journal’s Daily Buzz webcast as a Videojournalist.

Krystle graduated from Youngstown State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications and a minor in Journalism.

During college, she interned at WKBN, worked as a board operator producing weather segments for WYSU-FM radio. She worked as a General Assignment Reporter and Assistant Online Editor for YSU’s newspaper, The Jambar.

While attending YSU, Krystle was actively involved in YSU Band and a YSU Majorette (Penguinette) during marching band season.  

A native of Trumbull County, Krystle grew up in Champion and graduated from Champion high school in 2007, and worked for the Tribune Chronicle newspaper during high school.

When not producing, Krystle is an active person and practices yoga, golf, running and many fitness activities. She enjoys playing multiple musical instruments, listening to music, reading, and gardening.

Krystle, her husband and her family enjoy cruising, traveling and spending time outside with their cat and dog.
