Jerica Rogers, WKBN

Jerica Rogers has been a producer with WKBN since 2019. She has become familiar with each newscast produced at our station during that time. With most of her time working as a producer on the morning show. While she has enjoyed bringing the Mahoning and Shenango Valley their news every weekend morning Jerica has recently accepted a new role in our station. As of June 2022, she will be producing First News at 10 on WYFX.

The experience she had doing a variety of shows has allowed her to learn more about what’s important to viewers. She strives to bring people the most important stories they need to know along with what is happening in their neighborhoods.

Within the newsroom, breaking news is where she thrives in finding out how to get our team to where it’s happening and bring it live for viewers. This work has led to winning an Associated Press Media Editors Award for best breaking news coverage in Ohio.

Jerica graduated from The University of Akron in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a focus in Media Studies. Which included work in the student-run television station ZTV.  #GoZips
Born and raised in Niles, Ohio she is excited to be back in her hometown area.

When she isn’t at work she enjoys everything pop culture has to offer and adores her rescue cat Raja, named after the world-famous drag queen from RuPaul’s Drag Race. Raja was one of the cats rescued by Animal Charity from a home on Early Road earlier this year.
