Dave Sess began working for WKBN 27 First News in 1998 as a morning anchor and producer. He spent 8-years on the morning show before moving to anchor the evening news.
Currently, Dave is co-anchoring the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts on 27 WKBN.
His day starts at 10:30 a.m. by going out and finding stories which matter to you. Dave’s favorite story to cover was the East Palestine kid who drove to McDonald’s because he wanted a cheeseburger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bE2idwa4uY0
Dave has covered the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, the presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C., even YSU’s appearance in the national championship game in Texas.
Dave also spent numerous seasons as the sideline reporter for YSU football broadcasts.
Prior to coming to WKBN, Dave was a sports anchor at WICU-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania. He covered Allegheny College’s National Football Championship in 1990, along with hundreds of NFL games involving the Browns, Steelers and Bills.
Dave spends his free time golfing, and is still waiting for his first hole-in-one. He also likes finance and investing.
Dave’s wife Carla was born and raised in Campbell.
