Chad Krispinsky

Chad serves as a sports anchor and as executive producer of Game of the Week.  He performs play-by-play duties for the WKBN Game of the Week, which includes high school football, basketball, and wrestling along with college football and basketball, and Little League baseball and softball. 

He was born and raised in Youngstown and graduated from Cardinal Mooney H.S. in 1996. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Ohio University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration from Kent State University. Chad has also previously worked for Newsradio WTAM-1100 in Cleveland, serving as a fill-in host of the Cleveland Indians post-game talk show “Extra Innings.”

For his work in 2021, Chad earned second-place honors from the Ohio Associated Press Media Editors in the category of “Best Sportscast.” In 2007, Chad was awarded second place by the Associated Press in the category of “Best Sports Broadcaster” in Ohio Medium Markets.

In 2019, Chad was presented with the OHSAA Media Service Award, which honors a media member who has made contributions to the coverage of interscholastic athletics, while helping to uphold the standards of sportsmanship, ethics, and integrity.

Currently, Chad is also a part-time faculty member at Youngstown State University, where he teaches Communication and Sports Marketing.

Chad currently resides in Boardman and is an avid Browns, Guardians, and Cavaliers fan. He looks forward to covering the local teams here in the Valley for WKBN-27.
