Carolyn Sistrand joined WKBN 27 First News in January 2020. She was born and raised outside of Boston (go Pats) in what was once was the largest town in the country, Framingham, Massachusetts. Carolyn graduated from Penn State University (We Are!) in December 2019 with a bachelors in broadcast journalism, a bachelors in history, and a certificate in sports journalism.
Prior to joining the First News team, Carolyn worked for SiriusXM’s NFL Channel in New York City, Penn State Athletics, and AccuWeather Headquarters.
At Penn State, Carolyn served as the editor for CommRadio and was a host, analyst and producer for an all-girls sports talk show. She also did sideline reporting for the Big Ten Network’s BTN Student U.
Outside of the newsroom, you can find Carolyn working out, watching TV or grabbing her usual Dunkin’ order. Have story ideas? Let her know!
