Indians Split Doubleheader
|
The Indians and Blue Jays split their first traditional doubleheader at Progressive Field in eleven years. The Indians fell to the Blue Jays in the nightcap, 3-0. Cliff Lee pitched nine scoreless innings, but it wasn't enough to complete the sweep. Rafael Betancourt allowed three runs in the top of the tenth inning. Shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera turned the 14th unassisted triple play in major league history in the fifth inning of game two. Cabrera added a two-run homer in game one, helping Fausto Carmona and the Indians to a 3-0 win. It was Carmona's fourth win of the season.
