Thunder Rolls in Season Opener
|
The Mahoning Valley Thunder cruised to a 59-33 win over Albany in the 2008 regular season opener. Henry Tolbert returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown to get the Thunder on the scoreboard early. Ursuline grad Josh Swogger completed 10-24 passes for 157 yards and four touchdowns in the win. Wide Receiver DeMarcus Mathes caught five passes for 109 yards and a pair of trips into the endzone. Mahoning Valley has now won three straight games against the Conquest, and hosts Manchester Saturday at the Chevrolet Centre. Kickoff is set for 7:05 PM.
