It hosted its first ever "Faith That Works" summitt.
Representatives from over thirty organizations learned how they can reach out to their congregations, and help them find jobs.
The workforce board will provide training and job assistance to the churches and groups.
Jeff Magada with Flying High says, "We think they're the key community to really give a spike in lowering the unemployment rates because they're reaching people right there in their neighborhood at a grass roots level and they can identify needs first and are able to get them connected to work force development systems."
Organizers hope to use faith based groups to find at least one thousand people jobs.
