Howland Plan by Peggy Sinkovich

It's been nearly ten years since the township has created a comprehensive plan and officials say when they create this one, they want to make sure they are doing what the public wants.

So that's why they have created an online community survey. This survey has twenty three questions , which ask residents what they like or dislike about the area, and what improvements they would like officials to make.

The survey can be accessed by going to www.planhowland.com.

"We want to know what the public wants from us," said Darlene St. George, township administrator. "We can't always meet everyones personal needs but in general it helps us to find out what we need and what grants we should go for, so we need input."

The surveys will be available online until midnight tonight.  If you miss the deadline, you can still attend a future meeting and voice your opinion.

Zoning Inspector Mark Zuppo says officials plan to hold a meeting in a few weeks to discuss the plan.  He says at that time they will go over the surveys.

Officials say it will take about eighteen months to create the comprehensive plan and they hope to have input from the public, every step along the way.
