"Casa Fiesta" Raid Update by Gerry Ricciutti

Authorities searched "Casa Fiesta" on Midlothian Boulevard, initially detaining ten suspected illegal immigrants, or what agents with the office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement refer to as citizens "without valid status."

The raid was part of a sweep of eight "Casa Fiesta" franchises around northern Ohio that netted fifty-eight employees.

All of the arrestees, including one woman picked up at the Youngstown location and later released for what ICE calls "humanitarian reasons" must all now appear in court.

Agents say the raids followed a year-long investigation of the restaurant chain.  We're told evidence recovered during the search that will be reviewed to see if criminal charges should be filed.

Repeated calls to the local restaurant were not answered.
