The holiday ended with a bang for many this evening as area fireworks lit up the skies.This year was extra special for many in Canfield. Because for the first time the fireworks display at the fairgrounds was completely free. People started showing up around 5 this evening for a good spot in the grass.

"THE ROTARY CLUB OF CANFIELD DECIDED TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY, AND THIS IS A PROJECT WE BELIEVE IN"

On a day filled with family and celebration...the Rotary Club of Canfield got into the holiday spirit by putting on its fireworks display for free.

"WITH THE PRICE OF GAS NOW, IT'S FREE. THIS IS GREAT. AND THE FACT THAT FIREWORKS ARE JUST PART OF AMERICA, SO WE'D LOVE TO SEE EVERYONE OUT HERE. IT'S A CELEBRATION DAY SO WE CAN ALL CELEBRATE"

The fun started early....with lots of food vendors...karaoke....and even clown acts for the kids. But of course everyone's looking foward to the main event.

"FIREWORKS!"

"AND WHEN IT COMES TO FIREWORKS, WHAT MATTERS MOST IS LOCATION. THAT'S WHY THE PEOPLE BEHIND ME GOT HERE AROUND 5:30 TO GET THEIR PRIME SPOT"

But at least this year..families had a lot of ways to stay entertained TOGETHER while waiting for the big show.

"IT'S SOMETHING NICE THAT THE ROTARY CLUB'S DOING FOR FAMILIES, AND IT JUST SEEMED LIKE FUN FOR THEM, AND THEY'RE GROWING UP. THEY GET OLD SO QUICK"

"ESPECIALLY NOW WITH OUR SOLDIERS OVERSEAS TO REMEMBER WHY WE'RE ALL FREE IN THIS COUNTRY, AND THEY'RE THERE FIGHTING FOR US"
