Gas Theft by Peggy Sinkovich

It wasn't long after, Trumbull County prosecutor Sean O'Brien watched a report on the six o'clock news about the theft of diesel fuel that he got a call from Hermitage police that the truck involved in the thefts may be in North Bloomfield.

Prosecutors were able to obtain a search warrant around midnight and that's when they found this truck.  It has been confiscated and is now in the Trumbull County Sheriff Department's impound lot.

The tank was empty but police say it smelled of diesel fuel.  They also found a propane cylinder, large hoses and tools.

A shroud of rubber was suspended around the trap door from the undercarriage of the trailer to conceal the hose from public view during pumping operations.

Police say they also discovered five hundred gallons of diesel fuel on the property, owned by Larry Donaldson.

We tried to reach Donaldson at his home and by phone but were not successful.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues by Hermitage Police Department and Trumbull County.
