It's small but a  taser is a powerful tool and something that most police departments want to make sure they have available for their officers.

And Howland Police Chief Paul Monroe, says his department had a few but not enough for each officer to have their own while they are on duty.

So Jim Mataich decided to help out and donated $2,000 to the department so that two new tasers could be purchased.  The donation was a much welcomed surprise to the department of eighteen.

The chief told me that the new tasers have been purchased and been given to officers to use, if needed.
