They are not cops or special agents but they are all citizens of Warren, who say they are troubled by violence in this city, and concerned that a homicide was already recorded this year.
They want do what they can to help make the area safer and are encouraging other citizens to join the coalition.
The coalition has recently set up shop here in the YWCA building off of North Park Avenue in Warren. They were able to get the office space thanks to a forty thousand dollar grant awarded to them by the Raymond J. Wean Foundation.
They tell me the office makes it easier for citizens to get together and address their concerns.
The group says they would like to meet with city officials including the chief to discuss what they can do to help. But so far, the police chief has not been willing to meet with them. They are hoping that will change.
Police Chief John Mandopoulos did not return our calls to discuss the issue.
