July 4th fireworks and events in the Valley

(WKBN) - Here is a list of upcoming Fourth of July events and fireworks displays around the Valley.

Austintown, OH

Sunday, July 1: Gates for the Austintown Fireworks Celebration open at 3 p.m., followed by events starting at 4 p.m. The fireworks begin at 10 p.m. in the Austintown Plaza, located at 6000 Mahoning Ave.

Sunday, July 1: A Dueling Pianos show at 8 p.m. is followed by fireworks at 10 p.m. at O'Donold's. 

Wednesday, July 4: The Austintown Fourth of July Parade kicks off at noon on South Racoon Road.

Boardman, OH

Monday, July 2: The Boardman Park Independence Celebration place at 375 Boardman-Poland Road. Music by the Air Force Band of Flight begins at 8 p.m., followed by fireworks. In the event of rain, the band will perform at the Performing Arts Center in Boardman High School. Concessions are available.

Canfield, OH

Saturday, June 30: Gates open at 6 p.m. for the Canfield Rotary Fireworks Festival. The rain date is Sunday, July 1. This takes place at the Canfield Fairgrounds, located at 7265 Columbiana-Canfield Road.

Wednesday, July 4: Canfield's 4th of July parade leaves the Fairgrounds and 10:10 a.m. and circles around the Village Green. Events, including a 4-mile run, will take place during the day.

Wednesday, July 4: Fireworks at Firestone begins at 11 a.m. with a community celebration and ends with a fireworks display at 10 p.m. The all-day event includes music, food, raffles, contests and more. It will be held at Firestone Park, located at 338 E Park Ave.

Wednesday, July 4: Beginning at 8 a.m., a 5K Stars and Stripes Run & Walk will take place at Howland High School Football Stadium, organized by Trumbull Family Fitness.

Following the 5K, at 10 a.m., there will be a 1.5-mile parade along East Market Street, beginning at the Hunter Woods Plaza and finishing at Howland High School. Line-up will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Hunter Woods Plaza.
At 1:30 p.m., a pet show will take place awarding ribbons for various awards.

Saturday, July 14: The Fireworks Festival and Freedom Fair will be from 4 to 8 p.m., featuring food, drinks, games, costume characters and live entertainment. At 10 p.m., there will be fireworks. Events take place in downtown New Castle.

Sunday, July 1: Annual Independence Parade. Drivers in the downtown area along Main Street can expect delays and road closures between 1 and 2 p.m.

Saturday, June 30: Fireworks at dusk during the Celebrate Poland event.

Tuesday, July 3: Fireworks begin at dusk (around 9:30 or 10 p.m.) at Waterworth Memorial Park. 

Struthers, OH

Wednesday, July 4: The Struthers School Foundation's Fourth of July Parade and 5K is at 11:20 a.m., 40 minutes prior to the start of the parade. The run or walk is 3.1 miles along the parade route, which begins at 960 Fifth St. (Pizza Joe's Parking Lot). There is also a Kids Fun Run at 11 a.m.

Wednesday, July 4: The W.D. Packard Concert Band will perform, along with fireworks. The show starts at 8 p.m., and doors open 60 minutes prior to the show. The concert will be at the South Lawn Band Shell.
