GREENVILLE, PA (MyValleyTributes) - David W. Sorg, age 71, of Ray Rd., Greene Twp., Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in UPMC Hamot, Erie after an extended illness.
He was born in Greenville on July 27, 1946 to Gilbert C. Sorg, Sr. and Grace (Landfried) Sorg.
David was a 1964 graduate of Reynolds High School.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1967 stationed in Germany.
He had been employed for seventeen years as a Machinist at the former Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. and retired as a Master Machinist from Hodge Foundry, where he had worked for fifteen years.
He was of the Protestant Faith and was a member of American Legion Post #140.
David was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman and held membership with the N.R.A. He also enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles for many years.
Survivors include his significant other, Karen Hilinski of Jamestown; a daughter, Constance Sorg and her companion Scott Moffett, of Greenville; two sons, Michael D. Sorg and his wife Melissa and Matthew W. Sorg and his wife Brittany, all of Pittsburgh; one sister, Mary Patricia Lorigan of Jamestown; a brother, Robert Sorg and his wife Holly, of Greenville and a grandchild Austin Moffett.
David was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gilbert C. Sorg, Jr. and an infant sister Barbara.

Calling hours will be, Tuesday, May 22, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 South Main Street, Greenville, Pennsylvania.
A funeral service will be held, Tuesday, May 22, 2018, 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with, Reverend David Cox, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Greenville American Legion Post #140 will render military honors at the conclusion of the service.
