One teenager is dead and two others are injured, one critically, after a late night car crash in Champion.

State troopers say Christie Manchester, 17, of Southington was driving along State Road, west of Old Colony Road, when she lost control and hit two trees.

Manchester died at the scene. Two others in the car were hurt.

Ellen Becker, 18, of Struthers is in critical condition at this hour and 17 year old Kaylynn Barco of Southington is in serious condition.

Officials say none of them were wearing seatbelts. The accident happened just before midnight on Monday.

School officials say counselors will be available Wednesday for any students needing to talk.

There is no word yet on funeral arrangements.
