"While parents will be gambling away their childrens college funds... The children of the state of ohio will suffer the most because of the lack of quality time that will be spend as a FAMILY. That is the hand that WILL be delt to them." I know hundred upon hundreds of people that gamble at Mountaineer in West Virginia. Not one of them is anywhere near a "problem gambler" and not one of them neglects their children so that they can gamble. So you're saying that if I get a sitter on Friday so me and the wife can go play some cards for a few hours (instead of going to the movies or a sporting event), then we are bad parents and are going to Hell? You're line of thinking is so far from reality it is comical.

I feel like this, If you want to gamble, go ahead, If you don't, DON'T. We need something in OHIO. Next is medical Marijuana!!!!! People need to quit crying. Do what you wanna do, and mind to yourself. Most people that wine and complain, don't even vote!!

Gambling is like taking narcotics...It can be easily abused.

If you voted for this issue, your an idiot. Watch what these communities where these casinos will be getting built will turn into! TRASH George V. is right on.

It's a shame that this issue passed. I think people thought that they were legalizing gambling in ohio when the fact of the matter is that it was legalized for only 4 facilties. if we were going to legalize gambling in ohio why not make it so anyone can open a casino not just 4 people? the lottery was supposed to be the savior to the schools now we are going to depend on gambling? Not to mention how many religions are against gambling... but we won't go there! Heaven forbid.

the public gets just what it deserves. if you can handle gambling, fine. if you can't, fine too. but if all you do is sit back in yer barcolounger and biotch, you got just what you deserved. the sanctamon ious of you that won't consider alternatives to thgeh mess that an attempemted theocracy handed you got just what you desrved. the rest, you gotta sufffer the minority who goes out and votes.

Gambling does not equal evil and corruption. God forbid I take my hard earned entertainment money and choose to spend it at a casino. Is that really any different than spending at the movies or the mall? 99% of the people are capable of responsible gambling. The 1% that will go blow their rent money would go blow their rent money on something else (lottery, drugs, whatever) if it weren't for the casino. The only thing this accomplishes is that now instead of taking my monthly weekend trip to Mountaineer, I'll take it to Cleveland. Great job voters.

Heaven forbid competition now exists for state sanctioned gambling! The Ohio State lottery is no longer the only game in town. I'm terribly disappointed that our local, state, and federal governments continue to fail those they are intended to serve by not providing viable alternatives to such drastic and desperate measures as we continue to be a country of consumers in a debt ridden society. It’s truly unfortunate that viable alternatives to legalized casinos and state sanctioned lotteries do not exist while the public remains apathetic to such ineptitude on the part of our elected officials. Keep up the good work Senator.
