The city of Salem is still reeling after the loss of one of their star athletes.

Tuesday afternoon, 17 year old Dustin Huffman fell from an 80 foot cliff at Beaver Creek State Park in Columbiana County.

News of the fatal fall quickly spread through Dustin's hometown.  Family members tell us about 100 friends gathered at the star athlete's home to hold a candlelight vigil.  They are gathering again at Dustin's second home, the track at Reiley field, to honor his memory.

Calling hours for Dustin will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at Salem United Methodist Church.  The funeral will take place Saturday July 4 at 10am.

A scholarship is being set up in Dustin's honor.  If you would like to make a donation, you can send it to Salem High School.

The school is also open to students for grief counseling the next two days.
