Customers who may have eaten at a handful of Quaker Steak and Lube locations in Ohio before June 30, 2011, could benefit from a class action settlement agreement.

According to court documents, the restaurants in Austintown, Sheffield Village, Valley View, Mentor and Canton were named in the lawsuit, which accused them of rounding up some customers' bills by one to two cents.

The court didn't rule for either side, but the settlement was reached and approved instead, according to court documents. The Sharon-based company has denied any wrongdoing.

Customers who ate at the restaurants before June 30, 2011, can mail the company a claim for a $5 off coupon.

And it even gets better... they get your name, address and email to add to their customer database. Who could ask for such an inexpensive way to market your company? This is Awesome. Just can't figure out what court wouldn't throw this case out because it was so frivolous! How about giving us the details on that, WKBN?

What a novel way of distributing coupons and get free publicity as well. Let's see how many copy cats there are on this idea. You rock Quaker State & Lube. I will definitely use this as an example of creativity in my next marketing workshop.
