Tracy Knoblock, 40, of Lacroft, a town just north of East Liverpool, hadn't been seen by her family since last Thursday.

She was reported missing to police on Saturday.

Family members feared the worst. Thursday, her brother went out searching for her in a wooded area about a ten minute walk from her home.

"He did discover the body," said Liverpool Township police Chief Charlie Burgess. "It's in a very remote location outside of park way area know by the locals as Coal Hollow."

Liverpool Township police said the body appeared to have been in that location for at least a few days and showed signs of decomposition. Investigators spent several hours on the scene Thursday night and returned Friday morning trying to find clues as to what happened to Knoblock.

An autopsy is also being done to determine what caused the woman's death.

"The Columbiana County Coroner's Office, they have sent the body on to Cuyahoga County for an autopsy," said Burgess. "We will wait for that preliminary report. The coroner of course from Columbiana County was there. We'll wait until he has a preliminary before we'll release much information."

It's unclear how long those results will take. Police said that at this point it does not appear that foul play is involved.
