Congratulations to Rebecca Hanna from Poland High School, for being selected as this month's Student Spotlight Winner! Rebecca maintains a 4.0 G.P.A., volunteered with the Salvation army, and collected money for hurrican victims, plus is a successful gymnast!
27 First News, your local cable companies, and The Associated School Employees Credit Union recognize area students for volunteering their time in the community. Each student who is recognized in Student Spotlight will receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. The student will also be featured in a television spot that will air on 27 WKBN, FOX 17/62 and local cable stations. This program began nine years ago and has awarded over $10,000 to area students.
If you know a student who deserves to be recognized for his or her efforts in the community, please let us know. Without your nominations, we cannot recognize these students for all their hard work.
The nominee must be a High School Senior or Junior High School student during the 2006/2007 school year. Send the student’s name, address, phone number, a non-returnable photo and a letter telling us how the student is involved in community service. Feel free to nominate more than one student. Mail your nomination to:
