The 4th of July turned deadly for an employee of New Castle based, Zambelli International Fireworks.

Police say a 19 year old man was killed while staging a July 4th celebration in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.

Officers say the teen was struck in the head and chest by debris, after one of the fireworks misfired.  The accident took place during the grand finale at Quakertown's Memorial Park, just before 10pm Saturday night.

The victim was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.  His name has not yet been released, pending the notification of his family.

Fire marshals are investigating the accident.

thats amazing because every fireworks show that I have ever attended, their are children of EVERY age there. Evidently there are only 2 responsible parents around here.

My heart breaks for the young man's family and friends. NO responsible parent would have a 22month old BABY at fireworks.

I wasnt asking you about your business. And I do feel horrible for the family and the friends of that young man. I was commenting on Zambelli. And yea it was a terrible accident. That is my point. This young man died and it problably could have been avoided. You made it about damaging my son's ears. But just so you know, he hears just fine, thank you for your concern though. However, there are alot of people that take their children to the fireworks. Bad parents all over, I guess. Now I'm done. Good day.

For one, as you say, I was referringto the young man who's life was taken as an accident NOT your child. Ear damage...You were there with your son... surely you know how loud the fireworks are for your son's ears. It would never have been MY child because I know better than to subject my children to that much noise at such a young age. I am not related to the Zambelli family in any way. It was an accident as I said. I do know who the young man is if you must know my business. Again my prayers are with the family and I pray that this is not turned into a circus, that they are able to grieve their loss in peace. Please show respect for this family. Enough said.

it's sad for someone so young to lose his life

For one, we werent that close to the fireworks. We were at the park and one of them didnt go up like it should have. Instead it hit the ground. Then us. And ear damage??? Why would you even mention that? Totally off subject. O maybe your a relative of theirs. They train their employees very little, did you know that ?? And yea I know it was an accident. I was there. You werent. And it was my son, not yours. So how would you feel if it was your child ?? My prayers are also with the family.

22 month old babies shouldn't be so close to fireworks to get burned. Ever hear of ear damage? This was an accident. It has nothing to do with who Zambelli is. My prayers are with this young man's family.

This doesnt suprise me. They barely train their employees on setting off the fireworks. Zambelli tries to stress how safety is his biggest concern, when thats a total lie. All he cares about is the money, not the employees or the spectators. My son was 22 months old when he got burnt watching the fireworks in East Palestine. We found out how much Zambelli really cares back then, in 2001. Like I said, he doesnt care about people at all.
