A 29-year-old Hubbard woman pleaded innocent to a tampering with evidence charge in connection with Monday's shooting that left a 15-year-old dead.

Karen Adams entered the plea Tuesday morning in Girard Municipal Court.  Bond is set at $10,000 and family members say they expect her to post bond Tuesday afternoon.

Adams lives at the State Line Road home with her boyfriend Paul Sundy and kids. Adams and Sundy told police they got several threatening phone calls throughout the evening Sunday and early Monday. A car full of boys pulled into their driveway around 2:30am. Sundy said he believes they all had weapons.

I'm with my mother BarbieSix and our homie SSJason. People think that's it is completely okay to post things about mourning Robert, but the first sign of defense for my Uncle Paul and Kari, we are shunned and our comments are getting deleted. It's a bunch of bull. I'm so tired of all you hypocrites. So...Freedom of Speech is just a line of crap that they slapped on a piece of paper, because obviously you people don't know how to take when the other side of the gate has things to say. Get over yourselves and learn how to deal with what is said.

Yes, as a mother of three, if I thought someone was at my house at 2:30 am to "settle things" and my children could possibly be hurt, I would take whatever measures were necessary to protect my family and home and worry about the ages later. Damn straight!!! Let's see, 4 against 1...do you think they were there to kiss and make up? And please, don't give me this crap about calling the police first. I lived in Brookfield/Hubbard for too long to know that they don't just jump in their cars and come flying at the sound of the phone ringing! Kids today think they are invincible and have no concept of thinking about the consequences of their actions before they act. I know this because I have three teens of my own (15, 16, & 18) and although not one have ever been in any "real" trouble, I know that no matter how well I raised them, it could have easily been one of mine that made that kind of mistake. If Robert was a good kid like everyone is saying (and I am not arguing the point since I didn't know him) then his mistake was "tagging along" without thinking about the consequences of his actions and the actions of his friends. No, Robert shouldn't have died...but, Robert shouldn't have been in that situation to begin with.
