Water customers in several Trumbull County communities soon will notice an increase in their monthly bills.
The rates will go up March 1 for those in the following water districts: Champion/Bazetta, Mosquito Creek and Warren Township. The increase is because the county is now having to pay more for bulk water purchases from the city of Warren. Bulk water purchases are increasing 12 percent in 2012 and 2013, 10 percent in 2014 and 6 percent in 2015.
A breakdown of the increases is below.
Champion/Bazetta: - 2012 -- Old county rate of $7.58 to new county rate of $7.85, a 3.56% increase
- 2013 -- Old county rate of $7.91 to new county rate of $8.49, a 7.36% increase
- 2014 -- Old county rate of $8.20 to new county rate of $9.06, a 10.50% increase
- 2015 -- Old county rate of $8.52 to new county rate of $9.53, an 11.86% increase
Mosquito Creek:
2012 -- Old county rate of $7.55 to new county rate of $7.82, a 3.57% increase
2013 -- Old county rate of $7.89 to new county rate of $8.47, a 7.37% increase
2014 -- Old county rate of $8.21 to new county rate of $9.07, a 10.49% increase
2015 -- Old county rate of $8.55 to new county rate of $9.56, an 11.82% increase
Warren Township:
2012 -- Old county rate of $5.96 to new county rate of $6.23, a 4.52% increase
2013 -- Old county rate of $6.15 to new county rate of $6.73, a 9.46% increase
2014 -- Old county rate of $6.34 to new county rate of $7.20, a 13.59% increase
2015 -- Old county rate of $6.53 to new county rate of $7.54, a 15.48% increase
Customers in Braceville also will see an increase of 3.56 percent this year because of a 5.5 percent increase in bulk water purchased by the county from the city of Newton Falls. The price will increase from $7.30 to $7.56 starting March 1.
