The Warren Post of the Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a deadly car crash on North Leavitt Road, about a mile north of West Market Street, shortly before 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived, they discovered a 1997 Ford Mustang, split in half, with two of the passengers dead at the scene, and three others critically injured. According to reports, none of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

The vehicle was apparently traveling southbound on North Leavitt Road at a high rate of speed, when the driver lost control, slid off the roadway and struck a tree. Reports say all of the passengers were ejected from the car.

Family members of 25-year-old Benjamin Bosley from Leavittsburg, who died in the crash, came to the scene Saturday, still in disbelief.

"He was a good hearted guy. He'd help anybody anytime he could, and he was just in the wrong car is all I can say," Bosley's uncle Robert Bernett said.

Bosley's cousin Shelby Bosley was also at the scene: "He was a great person. It's hard to see somebody like that go. He made a difference in everybody's life, like making them smile, like the little things."

In addition to Benjamin Bosley, 25-year-old passenger Rory Drnek from Mansfield also died at the scene. The driver, David A. Eubank, 24, of Newton Falls and passenger Amber Hann, 23, also from Newton Falls were both transported to Trumbull Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Michael Lester, 24, of Leavittsburg, was life-flighted to Saint Elizabeth Health Center in critical condition.

The accident still remains under investigation.

The saddest part of all of this is this will all be forgotten in a couple of months, many will not have learned anything from it, until the next tragic death/deaths with speed and alcohol/drugs involved yet AGAIN!!!

Yes I have to Agree they were adults they had a chose to get in that car or call for a ride. Not one person is innocent. Its a Real Shame Anybody had to die.Its Always Harder when its a child or Young person. Its blows my mind how any of them survived, That car oh my god what a mess. I was told today The Other Passenger the boy had brain surgery today it looks like he will be in a wheel chair for the rest of his life. 5 Young Lives Destroyed. It will take Many Years for them to comes to terms with all this if not for ever. David if he lives will never be ever to live this down to his dying day. Next Time anybody think about getting in a car with an impaired driver Please Think Again Call someone, Walk, call a Taxi. And you who drink & drive STOP think Before Getting Behind that wheel. DRUNK DRIVERS KILL, OR DAMAGE SOMEONES LIFE FOREVER. WE DONT NEED ANOTHER DEAD CHILD, YOUNG MOTHER, Or Anyone else DEAD BECAUSE OF YOU.AND YOU FRIENDS STOP THEM FROM GETTING BEHIND THAT WHEEL, TAKE THOSE KEYS IF YOU HAVE TO KICK THERE BUTT, Flatten those Tires, Pull That Battery Terminal, Pull those spark plug wires, Coil wire. What ever it takes to stop them. There lives & others Depends on you being a true friend and stpping them. If your throwing a Party tell your guest to hand there keys to you , they drink they bunk at your house. If people used there brains,, less & less of these kinds of accidents would be happening. FRIENDS DONT LET FRIEND DRINK & DRIVE JUST TO DIE. Tell your FRiends I LOVE YOU I DONT WANT TO LOSE YOU. GOS BLESS THESE FAMILIES THAT LOST THERE CHILDREN, AND HEAL THESE KIDS STILL FIGHTING TO SURVIVE. My heart goes out to you all

To all family and friends of these special children and loved ones; Our prayers go out to each and everyone of you and to the special people who are fighting for their lives. To those of you with all of your comments; please refrain for now. There are families and children involved who are struggling during this time. They are in need of loving and caring words; not critisism! Yes...we all know that drinking and driving does NOT mix and that fatal accidents and deaths do occur! If we were all perfect...we would be God! I am very sorry for those of you who have been victims or have loved someone who may have been a victim of a drunk driver; there are not enough words that will ever heal the wounds or losses; as there are not enough words for these friends and families as well! Instead of being vicious or hateful...you should be praying and counting your blessings; for one never knows how long we have on the face of this earth to say..."I LOVE YOU-I MISS YOU or I CARE!" God Bless all the families of these children!

My heart aches for everyone involved & my heart goes out to you. I believe if our country enforced a device that you breathe into before the car would start & if you are over the level, your car won't start, then we would all be much safer. Just like seat belts were made mandatory, why not make this device mandatory. Just think of the lives that would be saved and the injuries that would be prevented. It would be much less expensive for our country in the long run & our jails would be housing people who needed to be in jail instead of drunk drivers because the drivers would not be able to drive if their cars wouldn't start. Something for everyone to think about. Meantime, your families are in my thoughts and prayers.

you cant call everyone innocent when they all knew what they was doing when they got into the vehicle. why blame others when you have the say so on what yourself chooses to do?

lindy - 11/28/2009 6:26 PM
