Police, city leaders, and residents say they are concerned about the amount of burglaries and robberies that have taken place in the city of Warren so far this summer.
This city has had 145 burglaries since June 1. One woman said her home on Victoria Street was broken into four times in the last few weeks.
Cynthia Mong of Victoria Street said a bag of receipts and instruction booklets is about all she has left. She said the thieves not only took her electronic equipment, food and clothes, they also stole her two dogs. She said she has no pictures to show us, because those were taken too.
"This was suppose to be a new start for me and my daughter," Mong said. "My mom is in bad health in Pennsylvania, and it is like the worse nightmare i ever had, coming to Warren."
And police are also investigating several robberies, including one that happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday, when three men armed with guns entered Roses Beauty Supplies on West Market Street and demanded cash. No one was hurt, but the robbers got away with more than $1,000 in cash.
Police are asking for the public's help.
"Pretty much if you see anything in your neighborhood, someone you don't know, be more vigilant, watch your neighbors and if you notice anything please call the police department," said detective Jeff Cole.
