The public defender representing a man with multiple DUIs is asking the court for permission to hire an expert at taxpayer's expense.

Atty. Tony Consoldane filed the motion in Keith Urso's case, asking the court for permission to hire an expert at $200 an hour. The expert would be used to analyze the breathalyzer results.

Assistant Trumbull County Prosecutor Mike Burnett said he opposes the request, saying he wants a hearing to determine if an expert is necessary. Burnett said granting the funds without a hearing sets a "dangerous precedent" and would potentially make the prosecution of OVI offenders in Trumbull County cost prohibitive.

Urso, 50, of Warren, has been jailed without bond shortly after he was arrested in January on his 15th OVI. He pleaded innocent to that charge.

Are they serious?? 15th OVI and some smuck lawyer wants to question the breatalizer test? Hopefully a smart judge throws the book at this looser before he gets behind the wheel and kills someone.

LIKE A BOIL ON MY BACKSIDE, URSO KEEPS COMING BACK. EVERYTIME HE DOES, IT COSTS ME AND OTHER TAXPAYERS MORE MONEY. WHETHER ITS HIS TOTAL DISREGARD FOR THE LAW AND HUMANKIND IN GENERAL, OR TO SUPPORT HIS WELFARE LIFESTYLE, HE FINDS WAYS TO EXTORT MORE OF MY HARD EARNED TAX PAYING MONEY.
