Trumbull County voters Tuesday overwhelmingly voted against proposals to increase license fees by $10 to help repair roads and bridges. The fee increases would have generated about $1.2 million a year.

Wednesday, County Engineer David DeChristofaro was back behind his desk looking at ways to make repairs without the extra money.

DeChristofaro said even though he doesn't know exactly how he will get all the work done he knows, one thing for sure, he will not put the issue back on the ballot.

"The voters have overwhelmingly spoken, and I've got good ears, and I listen very carefully," he said.

DeChristofaro said he believes the fees were voted down simply because people just don't want another tax.
