Voters in Trumbull County have many pocketbook reasons to vote this November. Two countywide measures initiated by county engineer David DeChristofaro would place a five dollar tax on license plates purchased for each vehicle. That is, except for those registered in Warren, Niles, Newton Falls and Hubbard, whose residents already pay a license tax imposed by their respective municipalities. The estimated $1.2 million dollars raised by the tax would go, according to DeChristofaro, to provide matching money for state and federal grants. The grants would then speed up repairs to roads and bridges in the county.

Many school districts and political entities are also looking for renewals and new money. To see if you have a local levy in your area, click here.
