The stars of the Trumbull County Fair arrived Monday morning.  Goats, turkeys, and even army tankers passed through the front gates and quickly settled in for the week ahead.

Richard Roscoe, Fair Board director, says, "We're basically all ready.  We're hoping we get some fair weather, that's usually the answer."

The Fretwell's of Cortland also hope mother nature cooperates.  They're camping out for the next seven days keeping a close eye on their horses.

Morgan Fretwell says, "I have to feed them in the morning, get to turn on the fans for them so they don't get really hot.  I have to lunge my horse and I have to work my horse so I can get him ready for the days I'm riding."

But in her down time Morgan plans to hit up the rides and food stands.  And this year, she'll have plenty to choose from.

Roscoe says, "All the concessions and spots are full, the rides are full, the commercial buildings full.  Everything's full this year."

And food vendors hope that's enough to fill the midway.

Last year attendance was down by about eight thousand.  But this year members of the fair board hope 80 thousand people walk through the gates.

To help fair goers, they lowered the price for the entire week from eight dollars to seven a night.
