While it's not clear yet if his name will appear on the November ballot, Jim Traficant was at Papa's Sports Bar in Youngstown Saturday raising money for his campaign.
Last week an appeal was filed to get him on the ballot after his campaign came up 107 signatures short on nominating petitions.
Summit and Mahoning Counties admitted to having the wrong counts, so the Trumbull County Board of Elections will now decide if he can run.
"Mahoning County certified at some point some numbers that were later adjusted," Traficant said. "It's my understanding they're now being further adjusted. Summit County, they provided some figures that are now being constipated over. Something doesn't smell right."
The board of elections should have a decision on the appeal in about a month.
