All is quiet at the Quaker City Raceway, but at 10 o'clock Friday morning, that will all change.

Brian Caiazza, Steel Valley Super Nats promoter says, "American muscle cars, classic cars, street tuners, street racers, all the way up to nitro funny cars, front engine dragsters, snow mobiles, motorcycles.  Everything you can imagine will race this weekend."

Organizers are preparing for big crowds, last year the event drew 20 thousand people.

And so far, registration is on track to race by last years totals.

Caiazza says, "I think people are staying closer to home now.  Doing more of the local events than going to the bigger national events.  We've seen an enormous increase in calls, emails, pre-registration."

But the fun doesn't stop here at the raceway.  Everyone's invited to downtown Salem, which is hosting the official after party.

Local restaurant and bar owners describe super nats weekend as one big block party.

They say it not only revs up summer business, but also highlights the city of Salem.

Mike Cranmer, owner of Mike's Penn Avenue Grille, says, "A typical weekend in Salem, Ohio is down right now.  But I really think it will boost everything for the whole area businesses."

After the races, Classic cars will hit the road, cruising up and down a four mile stretch through the city.

Organizers of the after party say there's a little something for everyone.

Mike Grimstad, Co-Chair of the Downtown Salem After Party says, "Live bands, dj's all over town, we have a burn out pit at stadium GM, we have a kids fun zone."
