St. Charles School in Boardman hosted a vocabulary parade on Wednesday in honor of Catholic Schools Week.

The parade was inspired by a book called "Miss Alaineus: A Vocabulary Disaster." Students from Kindergarten through 8th grade picked a challenging word and got to dress up like the word and use props.

They then paraded around the building and got the chance to announce their word and define it in front of the whole school.

"One of the goals for our five-year plan is to increase students' vocabulary and we thought this was a fun way to do that. And increase vocabulary they would be able to use in their everyday writing, and in reading and also in their speaking," said teacher Mary Jo Marsh.
