Earlier this week, Valley residents spent the better part of their mornings cleaning off their cars or shoveling the snow.
Now snow storm number two is ready to bear down on the Valley, and it's not even officially winter. Some may think it's an excellent time to buy a snow blower.
"A lot of people were unable to get the unit they wanted last year. So we've seen higher than average sales on snow throwers this season," said Brian Boswell, MTD Products Manager.
If you already have a snow blower, it looks like you made a good investment. By Christmas, we could already see more than 20 inches of snow totals for the month, which is a conservative estimate.
Snow blowers aren't cheap and you need to make sure you buy the right kind for your driveway. Small, smooth surface driveways can get by with a single-stage unit. Larger areas need a two-stage.
"The reason behind that is it will move more snow and it's also self-propelled."
They also can be dangerous if not used properly.
"Shoveling snow can be very hard on people," Boswell said. "It can induce a heart attack. These make it much easier. Never stick your hand in the shoot if you get a clog."
Tractor Supply in Hermitage reported that these aren't the only snow removal items flying out of the store; shovels and salt are also hot-ticket items right now. But keep in mind, salt only works once you've cleared the sidewalk.
Believe it or not--it's still fall. Winter officially starts Dec. 21.
