A former top aide to then-Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann tried to defraud the state's Bureau of Workers' Compensation -- that's the ruling coming out today from the BWC in Columbus.
The Bureau says Anthony Gutierrez improperly classified workers at his private Youngstown construction firm as independent contractors -- so he could reduce his workers' compensation costs.
He could now be forced to make restitution.
Gutierrez served as "general services director" for Dann -- until he was fired last year.
Gutierrez's problems also eventually led to Dann's resignation.
