Leaders with the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber are hoping a recent trip to Asia will turn into big dividends for the Valley.

Executives are just back from visiting both China and Taiwan, where they met with business and government leaders to encourage them to consider bringing their future growth to the Mahoning Valley.

They said after years of heavy exports, the Chinese are looking to build in other countries to offset growing shipping costs in the future.

During their two-week trip, both chamber President Tom Humphries and Vice President Eric Planey said they came away with as many as four potential business opportunities.

Money to cover the trip came through a federal grant to promote economic development.
