Protesters rallied outside of National College in Liberty this weekend.

The group is protesting proposed cuts to the Ohio College Opportunity Grant Fund in Governor Ted Strickland's budget.  The grants are available to students that attend Career Colleges like National College, Trumbull Business, and ITT Technical Institute.  If approved, the amount of grants available would be reduced by almost 45%.

Paul McCartney, a student and the organizer of Saturday's rally, says the proposed cuts are just too deep.  "The impact of the rally we are reaching for, is to get local politicians to see that we are just not going to stand by and let our funding be taken.  We have a voice, want our voice to be heard and we want the government to hear our voices, as well.  It's not in Ohio's best interest to cut the funding for that," McCartney said.

The group is planning to take their fight to Columbus later this month.
