The Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office will ask the Ohio Supreme Court to set an execution date for Roderick Davie. An appeal by the 37-year-old Warren man was turned down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Davie was convicted in the shooting deaths of Tracey Jefferies and John Coleman at the VCA pet food warehouse in Warren in 1991. Davie had been fired from that warehouse two months prior to the shooting.

Well said Gunshy! The evidence was not questionable so the execution should have been immediate! For 19 years instead of feeding this animal 3 meals a day and housing him the money could have been spent on books in schools or playground equipment or paving a road. C'mon lawyers and judges, speed up the process and keep that needle busy!!

After 18 years I would think its about time. This guy not only killed John Coleman. (shot 2times) He beat this girl to death,he bent a folded metal chair beating her to death. The bleeding hearts want to talk about cruel and unusual punishment what about Tracy and her family. Does anybody think she died cruel, begging for her life as he beat her to death to the degree she was totaly unrecognizable (and that is putting it mild). I'm so tired hearing about his rights and his appeals. Put him to Death allready. There was a eyewittness (trust me I know him very well, wink wink) to this crime. So there is no doubt as to his guilt. 18 years 4 months and 7 days, I wonder how many nights these people who set up these laws slept good in thier beds while Tracy's mother and 2 brothers and John's daughter and family's wish they had one more night with thier loved ones. I myself have had many sleepless nights but noting compaired to what these folks go through every day. Its finally time to do the right thing with this murderer.
