Big news out of Forum Health:  A top executive says he is "cautiously optimistic" the health care system can reach agreements with its unions without going to court.

CEO Walter "Buzz" Pishkur says Forum has been meeting with the Ohio Nurses Association all weekend and will resume talks with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal employees on Monday.

The hospital system is also trying to schedule dates with the SEIU.

Pishkur had said he wanted to have contracts in place by last Friday.  He had said if agreements couldn't be reached with the unions, he would consider asking the bankruptcy court to toss out the contracts.

Pishkur now says since progress is being made, there will be no action filed in court Monday.

We will, of course, continue to follow the talks and will bring you the latest information as it becomes available.
