Clergy sex abuse victims and their supporters spent the day Sunday handing out fliers urging parishioner to sign a pledge vowing to report abuse.

The group S.N.A.P., which stands for Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, handed out fliers in front of St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.  The demonstration comes at the same time that that final steps are being taken to lift Pope John Paul II to sainthood   The group calls the fast-tracking of the pontiff's sainthood "A callous PR juggernaut honoring the man who presided over much of the on-going crisis."

"We believe that at the time, there was more that he could have done.  And we believe that, again, that this is a PR type of thing.  They're pushing it through and there was more he could have done," said Jerry Arnal with S.N.A.P.

SNAP says that many victims will continue working hard to expose corruption, protect others, reform laws and warn parents and keep healing.

There is a group home for developmentally adults on 16th St in Manhattan. The manager Curtis Walker, has been known to escort a young male consumer to the bathroom and "assist" him with whatever he needs to do. Some believe he's molesting him in the bathroom. One Saturday, their psychologist noticed bruises on his genitalia and Mr. Walker politely reminded her that she has other houses to visit. Mr. Walker is a gay activist and an "advocate" for the disabled. He is a very effective speaker and has lots of acquaintances in the movement. I'm going to assume from the lack of oversight or accountability that most advocates for the disabled are this way, simply for the reason that there must be a price paid for their good deeds.

they probably had to twist their arm to sign it. I doubt signing a sheet of paper will stop them if a vow to God doesn't.
