Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a man they say rammed a police cruiser late Tuesday night and then led officers on a high-speed chase after they tried to arrest him on several warrants.
Kevin L. McFadden, 43, of Slippery Rock, is wanted on charges of fleeing and eluding and aggravated assault, in addition to warrants on charges of receiving stolen property, larceny, a probation violation stemming from a trespassing conviction, and a warrant for failure to appear on another larceny charge. Police said he also is accused of harassing a woman who has a temporary protection order against McFadden.
Officers from the Mercer post of the PSP said they got a tip that McFadden was in the parking lot of Callahan Supply in Wilmington Township and they tried to arrest him on the warrants about 10:30 p.m. Police said McFadden rammed a marked Pulaski Township police cruiser and led the officers on a chase on Route 158 that reached speeds of more than 100 mph. Officers called off the pursuit after several miles because McFadden was running red lights and using excessive speed and they did not want to endanger other motorists.
McFadden was driving an older, dark-colored Mitsubishi Mirage that may have damage on its rear driver's side bumper.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police at 724-662-6162.
