Ohio plans to have a new method of execution for death row inmates in place by the end of the month. But a local attorney says it will likely face court challenges.
The Department of Corrections is switching from a three drug injection to a single injection.
Ohio's old method came under fire after a death row inmate walked away from an unsuccessful execution attempt.
The new method has never been used on U.S. inmates before, and local attorney Dave Betras said "Anytime you are the first person to do something or try something, the courts will get involved. I can assure you that this will be tested in the federal courts as to whether this is a cruel and unusual way to put someone to death."
