Some golf lovers braved the cold and rain today to celebrate the opening of the a new disc golf course at Mosquito Lake State Park in Cortland.

The new twelve-hole Squirrel Run course was designed by a local man, and even features a hole that's across the lake.

"It just adds another recreational opportunity for the public.  It adds a new disc golf course to the area, as well as to the state park," said Doug Lyons, Northeast District Park Manager.

The course is open to the public and free to use.  You do have to provide your own discs.  There are discs available to rent or purchase from the park office.

The disc golf course is open year-round.
