The battle between the United Food and Commercial Workers and a local grocery store owner moves over the state line.

Union Local 880 is now picketing outside Henry Nemez's Sharon Save-A-Lot.

They want the residents in Mercer County to know Nemenz is not only non-union, but anti-union.

But they are not there to organize the Save-A-Lot employees, a point which confuses Mayor Lucas, a three time union member himself.

"They're not trying to bring safe working conditions over there to bring equality in the work place. They're not trying to bring in a better wage and fringe package. It seems to me their whole purpose is to shut this store down to hurt Mr. Nemenz.  To hurt the city of Sharon, to hurt the employees over there."

Downtown residents held a rally to counter the union picketers.

Several say the store is convenient and affordable, and do not want to see Local 880's actions shut down the store.
