A Warren man was life flighted to Akron General Hospital after being severely beaten by three men in Newton Falls.

Police say Tracey Mathews was walking on North Canal Street when he was attacked by the men shortly after 11:30 Wednesday.  He was kicked, punched, and hit by the car they were driving.

Keith Watson, Joshua Heilman, and Raymond Parrish, all of Newton Falls, were arrested. Heilman and Parrish face felonious assault charges and Watson faces a charge of aggravated vehicular assault.

Police were able to get to the scene two minutes after they received the call, and the police chief says the quick response time, in this case, was critical.

According to reports, the men assaulted Mathews because they thought he may have hit his girlfriend earlier in the night.

Watson, Parrish, and Heilman pled innocent to the charges.  Parrish and Heilman are being held in jail on a $25,000 bond and Watson is being held on a $15,000 bond.
