The man who wants to be Mahoning County's next engineer has a problem with his taxes.

Patrick Ginnetti won the local party's endorsement for next month's Democratic primary to succeed longtime Engineer Dick Marsico.

But the Mahoning County Recorder's office confirmed Ginnetti owes the Internal Revenue Service nearly $28,000 in back taxes. The lien on his home in Struthers has been in place since 2005.

In January, Marsico announced he would d be retiring at the end of his current term.

Ginnetti said the issue involved what he called a "calculation error" from a previous business and that he is making payments on his lien.

Sooo, Lets think about this.Mr.Ginnetti has failed in business twice,so ,lets just elect him to spend our tax dollars and he'll do a good job.REALLY.Think people, before you vote and consider candidates like this, would you really want him spending your money?Cause that's what's gonna happen if he gets elected.

'Calculation errors' could be quite costly when he's on the County Engineer gravy train, er, I mean, job.
