A little after 2:30 Monday morning, a teenage boy called the Trumbull County 911 Center to inform them that his friend had just been shot.
The boy said they went to a friend's home on State Line Road in Hubbard Township, and that an adult at the home fired at them. Fifteen year old Robert Flynn from Brookfield was shot.
The dispatcher asked the teen where the boy had been shot, and his friend replied he did not know. When asked if his friend was still breathing, the boy said, "Yes, but barely."
Police say the boy was in a car with three other teens when they stopped at the house.
"We are still trying to piece everything together and are talking to witnesses," said Police Chief Todd Coonce.
A woman from the home on State Line Road called and said the teens were harassing them all evening and pulled into their driveway around 2:30am. The woman said the boys were shooting at the house and they fired back. She said they fired the gun into the air to try and scare them off. The woman told the dispatcher she believed the shooting was over her boyfriend's juvenile daughter's relationship with a 21 year old man. The woman caller, 29 year old Karen Adams, has been arrested and charged with tampering with evidence.
Police tell us that several guns and spent casings were removed from the scene and the vehicle has been impounded for processing.
Police say all the boys in the car were 17 years old and younger. The 15 year old boy was taken to the hospital with severe injuries where he later died. Robert Flynn would have been a freshman at Brookfield High School this fall.
