A little after 2:30 Monday morning, a teenage boy called the Trumbull County 911 Center to inform them that his friend had just been shot.

The boy said they went to a friend's home on State Line Road in Hubbard Township, and that an adult at the home fired at them. Fifteen year old Robert Flynn from Brookfield was shot.

The dispatcher asked the teen where the boy had been shot, and his friend replied he did not know. When asked if his friend was still breathing, the boy said, "Yes, but barely."

Police say the boy was in a car with three other teens when they stopped at the house.

"We are still trying to piece everything together and are talking to witnesses," said Police Chief Todd Coonce.

A woman from the home on State Line Road called and said the teens were harassing them all evening and pulled into their driveway around 2:30am. The woman said the boys were shooting at the house and they fired back. She said they fired the gun into the air to try and scare them off. The woman told the dispatcher she believed the shooting was over her boyfriend's juvenile daughter's relationship with a 21 year old man. The woman caller, 29 year old Karen Adams, has been arrested and charged with tampering with evidence.

Police tell us that several guns and spent casings were removed from the scene and the vehicle has been impounded for processing.

Police say all the boys in the car were 17 years old and younger. The 15 year old boy was taken to the hospital with severe injuries where he later died. Robert Flynn would have been a freshman at Brookfield High School this fall.

Isn't it time to give this a rest? The truth will come out at a hearing or whatever. Nothing has been said as to whether the other teens have been charged with anything, that there I think they should be brought in and questioned also. It is tragic for both sides. i would take any precaution to protect what's mine, just like anybody else. Parents need to get a grip and get back to giving punishment as needed. Take the car and cell phones away. ground them except for school. What is this country coming to is right? You can't even look at a kid anymore on the street without them getting in your face and going ghetto on you!!!!

Way to go bren62, you tell them honey,if the shoe was on the other foot here, these people would not be so eager to make judgements and want to hang somebody before the truth be known .This world is crazy enough , and yes most of these young kids are on some kind of wacky tobacky, they get all fueled up and think nothing or nobody can touch them , and yes i do believe the cops are afraid of them half the time. This country is getting worse every day and we are going to have more cases like this (unfortunatly).Like i said before , i will take any measures i have to, to protect my children before the cops get there.Karin and paul did exactly what any of these other people would have done , they just won,t admit it,or they have no big cahoonas.Sad but true.

another thing as i've read the other comments i do agree parents need to protect their children by keeping a much better watch on them my sister always told me i was to strict on my kids and that i should give them more freedom well i didn't my kids had many friends they all came to my house that way i knew who my kids friends were and knew where my kids were . my house was the hang out sure it was difficult at times when i just wanted peace and quiet sometimes but i needed to protect my kids . well my daughter is now graduating from college as a phsyc major is going into criminal phsycology. my son works hard everyday they never got into trouble with the law my sister on the other hand her son has been in and out of prison, drugs, guns and such, her 2 daughters had many kids from the age of 14 and 15 they became mothers never married her family is a mess ..so yes p a r e n t s if ure going to be parents then please be responsible ones know where ure kids are at all times.. or don't be parents take your parental responsibility's seriously we are molding the future....sad in ohio

THIS IS A PRIME EXAMPLE WHY GUNS SHOULD BE BANNED .I KNO WE HAVE RIGHTS TO PROTECT OUR HOME AND FAMILIES BUT TO MANY TIMES TRADGEDY STRIKES BY PEOPLE GETTING SCARED AND NOT KNOWING HOW TO USE FIRARMS CORRECTLY AND PEOPLE GET SHOT.. I KNOW CRIMINALS CAN ALWAYS GET HOLD OF GUNS BUT WE NEED STRICKTER GUN LAWS VNOT MORE LENIENT ONES!!! I AM WITH A AMAN WHO WAS SHOT AT THE AGE OF 16 AND HAS BEEN A QUAD. FOR 20 YEARS NOW BECAUSE OF GUNS BEING TO ACCESSIBLE.. WAKE UP AMERICA... GET GUNS OUT OF THE HANDS OF PEOPLE AND GIVE BETTER POLICE PROTECTION ..IF WE HAD BETTER RESPONCE TIME FOR 911 AND HAD ENOUGH POLICE TO GO AROUND PEOPLE WOULD NOT FEEL THE NEED TO CARRY GUNS FOR PROTECTION.. AND KIDS WOULD NOT FIND IT SO EASY TO GET AHOLD OF THEM! I DO NOT KNOW ALL THE FACTS IN THIS CASE SO I CAN'T MAKE JUDGEMENT CALLS ..EXCEPT THIS..IF THE WOMAN HAD CALLED 911 KEPT HER DOORS LOCKED, AND WAITED FOR THEM TO HANDLE THE SITUATION THIS WOULD HAVE HAD A DIFFERENT ENDING.. THINK BEFORE YOU REACT AND THINK 2 3 TIMES BEFORE YOU RESORT TO GUNS...A YOUNG MANS LIFE IS OVER THAT CANNOT BE CHANGED OR TAKEN BACK! AND NOW A YOUNG WOMAN BECAUSE OF BAD JUDGEMENT MAY FACE YEARS IN PRISON.. AND DUDE WHY WERE YOU HIDING WHILE YOUR WOMAN WAS TRYING TO PROTECT THE HOME??????????/ WHERE ARE THE BRAVE MEN? HIDING IN CLOSETS? DAG. IT WAS HIS DAUGHTER I UNDERSTAND THIS WAS OVER? AND HE'S HIDING HE MIGHT HAVE WENT OUT SENT THE KIDS ON THERE WAY TRADGEDY AVOIDED OR AS I SAID ALL STAY IN THE HOUSE CALL THE LAW AND WAIT! EVIDENTLY THE KIDS HAD NOT EVEN TRYED TO BREAK IN ..OR GOTTEN OUT? AS I SAY I DON'T KNOW ALL THE FACTS. BUT TAKING THE LAW INTO YOUR OWN HANDS IS NOT THE ANSWER. WELL I'VE SAID MY PEACE. TO THE FAMILY OF THE BOY MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY'S TO THE WOMAN WHO SHOT THE GUN THINK BEFORE YOU REACT AND TO HER BOYFRIEND THE FATHER OF THE GIRL THIS WAS ABOUT.. GROW SOME!!!DISGUSTED IN OHIO

This is for ( reallyhurt)! By the way you talk you must be young so I am gonna tell you this... I know the family is hurting over all that has and is happening. I also have lost alot of family members in the past few years but due to illness. but no matter how they were lost it hurts just the same. And if you knew the whole story you would know that Samantha does not live with her dad (Paul) and that the only boy that lives there is only 8 years old so I'm sure they did not go to see an 8 year old boy. And I am also sure them boys did not go to there house at 2:30 am just to say HI! No there intentions were way beyond that! And yes I do know alot but I refuse to go over all this hurtful stuff with people who think they know it all and also all kids and grown up make bad choices sometime in their lives and people learn from these things I hope you your self has learned something from all of this. By the way is there no curfew anymore? And is there a curfew for under age drivers? Think about all the wrongs not just the ones you want to!

okay really a lot of you people are truely ignorant. you dont know anything. that boy the is now dead...is a cousin of mine, okay? and i will say that yes he shouldnt have even gone with his friends to that house. but none of them went to cause trouble. they went to see their friend that lives in that house. the man that lived in the house thought that of that group of boys was a 21 year old man that was trying to get in contact with his daughter because he had been trying to get with her but he was strongly against him trying to get with her and thought he was a part of that group of boys that showed up in this driveway, but he wasnt. they werent frightened of the children...he was angry and though that it was the 21 year old man with some friends but it wasnt..it was my cousin and his friends stopping by to say hi. yea its kinda ridiculous to try that at 230 in the morning but still. they werent armed and werent trying to hurt anyone. i know my cousin, robert, and he wouldnt do a thing to harm anyone. he was just going with his friends to have some fun and ended up in a situation that was taken the wrong way. the man and woman of that household went wayy too far and by shooting at the kids in the car instead of calling 911 if they were that angered or frightened that someone they didnt want on their property was there trying to get to their daughter..that is just messed up. my cousin's life being taken away was a big mistake and now my family has to deal with this for the rest of our lives. do you know how hard it is to lose a 15 year old cousin that didnt deserve anything and didnt want to cause any harm to anyone? everyone thinks that cause he lives in brookfield/hubbard that he was bad news...not everyone is bad news from there. so stop judging and thinking you know everything...cause really..you know nothing. christmas's, thanksgivings, new years', and etc. will never be the same anymore. thanks to two people that didnt know how to keep control.

Obviously only uneducated people or members of the family charged in this ase would make such pitiful statements! A boy, a young boy is dead. Anyone, in their right mind, would call the police if they felt threatened--not start shooting children. I did not know the boy or those being charged--however, I do know that the comments made on this page are so dispictable--a child is dead at the hands of an adult...this should of never happened. Surely the kids should never of went there but the adults are and should be held to might higher standards. Give me a break! You ask ...where were the parents of these boys? I am asking where are the scruples and morals of these adults that shot a gun which pierced a hole through a young boy's head leaving him dead...furthermore...where is your brain for making such ridiculous comments????
