A Trumbull County grand jury met Tuesday morning to continue hearing evidence regarding a fatal accident on State Route 5 that killed three Marine recruits.

Assistant County Prosecutor Mike Burnett, who is handling the case, declined to discuss the matter since grand jury proceedings are secret. It is not known when the grand jury may report.

Three Marine recruits, Zachary Nolen, Joshua Sherbourne and Michael Theodore were killed March 31 when the car they were in was struck from behind by a tractor trailer driven by Donald Williams, of Austintown.

The accident happened in Warren Township.
