It appears that a man convicted of killing a Hubbard woman 13 years ago, will remain on the state's death row. The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal from the federal court concerning Jason Getsy's case. Since the court will not hear the case, Getsy does not have any other appeals. Prosecutors say they will now be seeking an execution date for Getsy. But for now, Trumbull Prosecutor Dennis Watkins says he believes Getsy is exactly where he belongs.
Getsy, formerly of Hubbard, was convicted in 1995 of aggravated murder in the slaying of Ann Serafino, and the attempted murder of her son, Charles. Prosecutors say John Santine hired Getsy and two of his friends to kill Charles Serafino.
